Episode 01:
Craig has been living on his sailboat for the past 7 years. His main base is at Jupiter Inlet, where we met a few weeks ago. He’s lived an extraordinary life around the US, traveling and learning along the way what it takes to live the life of a man so completely in peace with his solitude, his silence, his freedom, and all that it is unfamiliar.
The story of how we met
I had accidentally locked my keys in the van, and Craig had been passing by when he overhead me asking the police to call the locksmith for me. He offered to help open my van, and after a few tries, we realized it just wouldn’t budge. Then, he noticed that the front window was slightly open, and the keys were on the driver’s seat. So he found a stick, disappeared into the trees and came back with some wire. Within a minute he’d made something like a hook at the end of the stick and stuck it in through the opening. The first time the keys fell off the stick, but the second time, he managed to pull them out just as the locksmith was pulling up behind me. And that’s how, after 7 years of watching his sailboat from the shore, we finally met.
